Getting The Right Balance

Is your day balanced with BACE?

B is for Body Care – Taking part in physical activity, exercise, stretching, healthy eating to nourish the body, hydrating, moisturising, taking a relaxing bath, fixing your nails, having hair done, pampering with a facial or massage therapy, beauty treatments, resting, recovering and taking time out to chillout. 

A is for Achievement – Completing work, getting chores done, studying to complete a hand in date or to the final’s exam, completing a decorating project, competing in your favourite sport or getting that “To Do List” ticked off.

C is for Connecting with Others – Meeting with friends, spending time with loved ones, seeing family, reaching out with a message to somebody special you have not had contact with for a while, smiling at a stranger, giving somebody the right of way – like holding a door open and getting involved with the community.

E is for Enjoyment – Having a fun day or evening out, participating in a hobby, watching a fun film and catching up over a glass of vino or a cup of coffee with friends.

If one area remains empty throughout your day or another is over-scheduled, then this may mean you are not achieving balance in lifestyle and well-being.  Remember that saying – “all work and no play”? This can mean we are not living and just going through the motions.

For each day in the week ahead try and make sure you include your BACE, to live mindfully and look after yourself. This will help you be the best version of yourself, so you are armed to give your best and actually help others.

It is not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and to make happiness a priority. It’s necessary. Your time and energy are precious. You get to choose how you use it.
