SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY SUCCESS FOR GATSBY & MILLER SALON, AMERSHAM
Spearheading Amersham’s Small Business Saturday event in style, the ‘Amersham Showcase’, the elegant Gatsby & Miller salon brought added glitz and glamour to this annual event that highlights small business success.
Salon director John Roads is one of the town’s leading supporters of the campaign and on Saturday, December 3 he and his team helped make sure the town was glowing with excitement and colour.
This year’s theme, designed by the Amersham Action Group, was a Festival of Lights and it was a tremendous success thanks to the support of small businesses all over the Buckinghamshire town and John’s enormous enthusiasm. He dedicates time each month to help create spectacular events in Amersham to encourage shoppers to return to the high street and create a buzz for the local community.
Small Business Saturday itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but this lively national campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses of all kinds and boost the local economy.
Popular television personality Russell Grant had the honour of switching on the lights for the festival and the proceedings were opened by Amersham mayor Mark Vivas. In his welcome the mayor paid tribute to Gatsby & Miller as a ‘true success story of the town’, going on to thank the salon for its dedication and for sponsoring the Christmas Grotto.
All the salon team added to the festive atmosphere by turning out in seasonal attire and there was a selection of Christmas treats for everyone who called in.
“Small Business Saturday is very important to us, as it should be for the hundreds of salons across the country,” said John Roads. “Every year we put our power behind the cause to help tempt shoppers back to the high street, for the good of all.”
